When space is silence…

Words, sounds, and space…

Outside

The lights are off       The music  on

It rains    outside

         You could not remember
         I deceive
         The air had your smell
         Complicity-perfumed breeze
         I could not care anymore
         Conniving wind
         Extended stillness
         Passion-scented stillness
         You lied

The night is on

After-rain freshness enters my unreality

The air has your breeze

You are close

I dream

I lie

Tonight I am writing under the influence of beautiful, melancholic music.

Where?

I want to be in the city someone forgot to build
right in the middle of dreams
where there is nothing to hide

A city fueled by a passionate sun
who writes temporal poems on afternoon clouds

A city at night covered by black-winged butterflies
whose flutter sparkles abstract motifs on an ever-changing sky

I want to be where tears and pain are shown
as much as laughter and joy
Where contrast is welcome
paradigms are broken
truths challenged

Snow & Fire

Storm

        Desire

I want to be there …

No barrier tonight

He seeks a girl
with the diamond edge
that suspends all routine

Amelia wears a pleated skirt
zips up the boots
goes out for the night

Swing music at the club

Tough guy checks her out
  No strap around her finger
Tough guy checks him out
  Enough detail in his face
No barrier

A waterfall of rhythms
Two alcohol units
No magic

Amelia grooves to the beat
glitters and sparkles
She loves to dance

He attempts to approach
She glances at him
He trembles

A drink might power confidence

Amelia wonders impatiently
He smiles at her
She blushes

He suggests going for a walk
She proposes Sunday
The music ends

Amelia is out

Somewhere in between
thick eyelashes and the second behind her eyes
something stops Amelia from leaving

It is not lack of a confidence mask
not her camouflaged smile
nor the keys

It is that mirror that keeps staring at her
showing the sadness she shares life with
frustration of waking up with just a memory
guilt of ending it all      (if only)

Only the mirror knows
the naked reflection and the crimson lipstick
Outside she wears dressy hair and savvy shades

Not today, Amelia thought
Today I want to cry frozen tears
    remove the night shades
   show those feelings
  my pale lips
 the scars

The reflection drags her back
pulls her spirit
fades her chance …
